Bangladeshi actor Bulbul Ahmed dead

Dhaka, July 16 (IANS) Veteran Bangladeshi film actor Bulbul Ahmed who portrayed memorable roles based on Bengali literary classics, including ‘Devdas’, is dead. He was 69.

Tabarruk Ahmed Bulbul died Thursday after fighting prolonged illness.

‘Actor Rahman, popularly known as Chunilal, left me several years back. And this time, Devdas has left me,’ said Chashi Nazrul Islam, director of the film ‘Devdas’.

Based on a novel by Saratchandra Chatttopadhyaya, ‘Devdas’ starred Bulbul and created a stir among the audiences.

Bulbul worked as a banker from 1965 to 1975. His acting career began with theatre and his big break came with the film ‘Iye Korey Biye’ in 1972, the Daily Star said.

His directorial debut ‘Rajlakkhi Srikanto’, which released in 1987, won him the national award for direction.

Messenger of love- Parthiv Gohil

Feb 8, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Parthiv Gohil, a playback singer for Indian films received the passion for music from both his great-grandfather and father. Gohil hit the limelight when he won the finals of the singing reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma’ (Gujarati) and hasn’t looked back since then. The singer had contributed his talent in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Devdas’ as backing vocals and later in ‘Saawariya’ as a playback singer.

Bhansali chooses new music director duo

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s known to have an ear for music. He introduced Ismail Darbar with his film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and they gave hits not just with that film but with Devdas too. He has now decided to rope in music director duo Ajay and Atul for his film Chenab Gandhi.

Ajay and Atul have composed the music for a superhit Marathi film, Natrang.

According to sources, someone told Bhansali about them and he met up with them. He was apparently blown by their music in Natrang, which stars Atul Kulkarni and Sonali Kulkarni. The film apparently got very good reviews for its music. He then decided to sign them up for his film Chenab Gandhi, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Rajeev Khandelwal and Vidya Balan.
