WordPress 2.9.2 Released, Download the Security fix!

Feb 15, 2010 – WordPress 2.9.2 has been released an hour back by WordPress.org. This release is a security fix, but if you have some untrusted users (authors, subscribers) on your blog/site when logged in they can see the posts in trash. There were also some bug fixes which can be seen on http://core.trac.wordpress.org/query?group=status&milestone=2.9.2.

According to WordPress.org ” Thomas Mackenzie alerted them about the problem where logged in users can peek at trashed posts belonging to other authors. If you have untrusted users signed up on your blog and sensitive posts in the trash, you should upgrade to 2.9.2.  As always, you can visit the Tools->Upgrade menu to upgrade.”

If your have a blog/site which has only an Administrator i.e. you, without any registered users, this upgrade is not necessary. On January 4, 2010 WordPress 2.9.1 got released and today on Feb 15th 2010 WP 2.9.2, Within the end of August bloggers can expect WordPress 3.0 which will have lot more options than a normal Blog!
